In a telephone interview on Fox News,
President trump coronavirus said a WHO figure of
3.4% for the coronavirus death rate was "false". The WHO reported
this figure on 3 March and said it was based on all the confirmed coronavirus
cases that had resulted in death. Mr. trump coronavirus said he thought the
true death rate, based on "my hunch", was "way under 1%". trump
coronavirus said the death rate appeared higher because many people who
caught a mild form of the virus did not report it to the doctor and therefore
did not end up as confirmed cases. Coronavirus
deaths in the US reached 149,250, according to Johns Hopkins University, as
states in the south and west, including Florida and California, reported record
daily death tolls. But Mr. trump coronavirus claimed that large parts of the US were
"corona-free". On Tuesday the president told reporters
at the White House: "I can only say that from my standpoint, and based on
a lot of reading and a lot of knowledge about it, I think it could have a very
positive impact in the early stages.
"I don't think you lose anything by doing it, other than
politically it doesn't seem too popular."
trump
coronavirus added: "When I recommend
something, they like to say 'don't use it'."
The comments were made as he prepared to visit Odessa, Texas for a
fundraising event on Wednesday, despite concerns over surges of Covid-19 cases
in the state.
Joe Biden, Mr. trump coronavirus presumptive rival in
the November general election, criticized the trip. "Texas families are
suffering. They're suffering because President trump coronavirus inability
to lead this country and combat the spread of Covid-19," Mr. Biden said. President trump coronavirus and his son Donald trump coronavirus Jr were among social media users who shared video late
on Monday of a group called America's Frontline Doctors advocating
hydroxychloroquine as a Covid-19 treatment. Now, at the other end of the
spectrum are a group of more moderate or middle-of-the-road Republicans, who
are up for re-election this fall and are actually having to face the voters, in
many cases, in swing states or blue states where President trump
coronavirus and the Republican response
to the pandemic have been deeply unpopular People like Cory Gardner or Thom Tills.
I think it’s inescapable for elected Republicans. And it’s not just the way
that the public seems to be viewing President trump coronavirus and giving him very poor grades on handling the
pandemic, which could hurt the whole Republican Party in November. It’s also
the kind of erratic nature of his leadership and engagement on this issue
itself. And so they’re working with his Treasury secretary to iron out the
details. But this is not a negotiation that President trump
coronavirus is leading or even all that
active in. They’re trying to do whatever they can to bail out the party, not to
please trump coronavirus in this case.
